and trekking; they are a natural combination.
After trekking to some of the amazing places the high
peaks have to offer, we will head down to the river for
a different adventure, a well-deserved cruise downstream
with the thrill of whitewater, a great chance to cool
down and rinse off the dust of the trail.
CHANDERSHILA TREK AND GANGA
RIVER (Oct- March)
Chandershila top and Dev Prayag (confluence of Alkhnanda
and Bhagirathi river) down on the river Ganga is a
shortest combo trip of trekking and rafting we can
offer. It can be completed in 6 days. It is good for the
people wants to experience both activities in a week
time. It is a nice and easy trip gives you taste of
rafting and trekking.
Day 01: Drive Rishikesh to Sari
and trek to Devria tal Drive:
Morning after breakfast drive to Sari
village. The drive is spectacular and along the Ganga,
Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Enroute stop at
Deoprayag, the historical town situated on the
confluence of river Alaknanda & Bhagirathi River which
makes the holy Ganges. Arrive at the village Sari and
walk up to the lake. Meals & Overnight stay in Tentage.
7-8 hours drive and one walk.
Day 02: Deoriatal Lake to
Chopta Trek: 5-6 hrs.
Morning wake up with the excellent sunrise
view on the snow covered Himalayan Peaks. After
breakfast trek start to Chopta .It's a gradual trek and
the views are well worth the effort. We pass through the
dense forest and beautiful alpine meadows dotted with
flowers. Arrive Chopta and camp at outskirts. Meals and
Overnight stay in Tentage.
Day 03: Chopta to Chandrashilla
to Chopta Trek:6-7hrs.
Wake up very early morning to reach the
summit on time to see the panoramic view of the high
Himalayan peaks. The trek is mostly gradual ascent
through the dwarf rhododendron bushes. You can watch
most of the prominent peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas
from Chandrashilla Top. Nanda Devi (7817Mtrs-the second
highest peak of Indian Himalayas), Kedarnath, Trishul,
Banderpoonch etc are the prominent peaks visible from
here. Explore the area and trace our steps back to the
camp at Chopta.
Day 04: Chopta to Devprayag:
Start early and drive 150 km to Devprayag.
Rafting begins after all the preparation. A relaxed day
with few rapids. A day for swimming, body surfing,
relaxing and spotting wildlife. Raft one and half hour
to reach camp Amarasu. Camp over night on the beach.
Day 05: Day begins
with negotiating a few small rapids. Again an easy day
for rafting. We raft about 30 Km to reach our camping
place. Camp over night on the beach at kodiala.
Day 06: The day
begin with big rapids followed by Daniel dip, the wall,
Three Blind Mice, Crossfire, and the Body Surfing rapid.
Cover 35 kms to reach Rishikesh. After lunch we run big
rapids, the Roller Coaster and Golf Course to make it an
exciting end to a grand adventure. The trip ends near
Rishikesh.
Season: October to mid
march.
Costs include:
1. Transportation from Rishikesh to Rishikesh,
2. Accommodation in Medium Class Hotels (where
applicable) on a twin sharing basis,
3. all Meals,
4. tents on twin share basis
5. camping gear and rafting gear during the trip
6. Fluent English speaking guides, cooks and porters and
entrance/permit fees.
Costs exclude:
1. Accommodation in Rishikesh,
2. All alcoholic beverages and Expenses of personal
nature.
